When I was a kid we'd have winters of snow and ice and cold like this all the time.
The difference was back then we would be out sledding, building snow forts, having snowball battles.
Then, soaked and shivering caked in snow ice in our hair and eyebrows hands and feet raw and red through our gloves and boots we'd head in and dad would tell us to take a warm bath "but just tepid, not hot", and mom would make hot chocolate and soft pretzels and we'd settle in to watch Barney Miller or Welcome Back Kotter. (and NOT reruns of them)
Now, at 52, I can definitely say I am tired of this snow and ice and cold shit this winter.
I want my soft pretzels and hot chocolate!
