Dear Brady Campaign,
Boy, you guys sure are dumb.
There is no such thing as an "assault clip". This is a term you made up.
What you are depicting here is a high capacity magazine.
A magazine, not a clip.
Maybe you thought magazine was not a scary enough word. That people would envision someone being beaten about the head and shoulders with a copy of Time.
I assure you, reading the magazine is bad and scary enough.
Nevertheless.
It is used mostly in target practice (and never on targets of little girls) to cut down on reloading time.
And the magazine does not have magical properties that make the gun you depict any more lethal. The gun you depict appears to be a Glock 17 or 22. And can fire that quickly regardless of the capacity of the magazine.
It also happens to be a weapon of standard issue to a number of police departments and federal agencies.
So stop trying to scare people who are unfamiliar with firearms.
No one out there is shooting at targets of the elderly or young children. Certainly no one law abiding, many of whom own high capacity magazines.
How about you focus on the criminal holding the gun instead?
