I'm not sure this is such a surprise, at least to any thinking individual. You had to realize the 19 must have had logistics help on the ground.

FBI still hunting three terror suspects tied to September 11 attacks, reveals Wikileaks

The FBI is hunting for three previously unknown terror suspects believed to have taken part in the September 11 attacks, leaked documents reveal.

The team of Qatari men is believed to have monitored targets and supported the plotters behind the terrorist attacks in 2001.

They allegedly carried out surveillance at the World Trade Centre, the White House and in the American state of Virginia, home to the Pentagon and CIA headquarters.

Other papers released by Wikileaks also suggest that Al-Qaeda is trying to build a radioactive 'dirty' bomb which could create a 'nuclear 9/11'.

Extremists are said to be trying to secure nuclear material for rogue scientists to build into a nuclear weapon.

Only one person, Zacarias Moussaoui, has been convicted and sentenced to life in prison over involvement in the 9/11 attacks, as all the terrorists died in the crashed planes.

The three men still at large reportedly had tickets for a flight to Washington on the eve of the September 11 attacks.

They also took a British Airways flight from London to New York three weeks before the atrocities.

Then, ten days later, they flew to Los Angeles and stayed in a hotel – all of which was paid for by a convicted terrorist, the FBI believes.

According to reports by hotel staff, pilot uniforms were spotted in their room – along with documents listing pilot's names, flight numbers and times.

The document reads: 'Hotel staff grew suspicious of the men because they noticed pilot type uniforms, several laptops, and several cardboard boxes addressed to Syria, Jerusalem, Afghanistan and Jordan in the room on previous cleaning visits.'

On September 10 they had seats booked on an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Washington, but never arrived on the plane.

The next day, the same aircraft – a Boeing 757 – crashed into the Pentagon after being hijacked by five terrorists.

The three new suspects, named as Meshal Alhajri, Fahad Abdulla and Ali Alfehaid, then flew back to London via British Airways before returning to Qatar, although their current location is unknown.

The FBI are also trying to trace a man named as Mohamed Ali Mohamed Al Mansoori from the United Arab Emirates for his alleged support of the trio during their visit.

The revelations, obtained by the Wikileaks website and reported in the Daily Telegraph, were contained in a diplomatic cable sent between the American embassy in Doha, Qatar, and the Department for Homeland Security in Washington.

The newspaper also disclosed private comments from a leading atomic regulator that the world stands on the brink of a 'nuclear 9/11'.

Al Qaeda terrorists planning to build a radioactive bomb could kill thousands if unleashed in attacks on the West, the secret security briefings warn.

One document detailed how security chiefs briefed member states that al-Qaeda was plotting a programme of 'dirty radioactive IEDs', makeshift nuclear roadside bombs that could be used against British troops in Afghanistan.
