And The Band Played On. . .

I saw in the headlines there had been a gaffe of some sorts.I didn't bother to read the story because I figured he misspoke, flubbed the words, a catastrophic teleprompter malfunction. Nothing too exciting.

Then I saw it on Fox tonight.

Hooboy.

This is just painful to watch. A normal person would have done the decent thing and died of shame.

Guess that's what happens when you're a rock star and believe your own hype.

Somewhere, in America, the voters are missing the idiot they elected.

She's frigging laughing at him at the end.

But then again, what should we have expected?

PASTORIUS CUTTING IN HERE:
Frankly, I think the band was being belligerent, and this is an insult to our President and our nation.

I think it is disgusting.

This is being spun as, "then band thought he was done with his toast".

Bullshit! I do not buy that.

I think the band leader, and everyone in the band who played, and continued playing, ought to be fired.

When stuff like this happened to Bush, we understood what was going on and condemned the insult.

It's the same with Obama. He is our President, and this fake-assed, Emperor's new clothes, Royal-support system, does not like our American values.

Fuck them, and the red carpet they walk in on.

FUCK THEM!

- And Now For Something Completely Different. . .
I know that I've been given to bragging about our High School Marching Band and Orchestra. And the size of our music program overall. Today is no different. So here's our marching band at their homecoming game a few weeks ago, playing, singing...

- Renaissance: Sceherazade And Other Stories
A forgotten band. This 1975 album features the beautiful voice of Annie Haslam. Her singing is reminiscent of Sandy Denny, lead singer of Fairport Convention. This album is playful, pastoral and plenteous, as the name of the band would indicate. Hope...

- Elizabeth Reed
Band #3 seemlessly fused blues, jazz, rock, country and bluegrass to create an entirely new subgenre: Southern Rock Rolling Stone (once a truly great magazine) rated Duane Allman the second greatest rock guitarist of all time, second only to Jimi Hendrix....

- Nargiz' Burqa Boogie Band
Nargiz, a young Afghani woman has started the world's first all-girl burqa-bedecked band: In Afghanistan girls aren't supposed to play music or sing songs. But 25-year-old Nargiz didn't care. She started the Burka Band, the first Afghan...

- The Lt. Dan Band
Received last month, via email, with links and a graphic added: We just got back from the 3rd Annual Coalition to Salute America's Heroes Road to Recovery Conference. The girls and I missed the first three days of the conference due to classes and...
