As an American who happens to be Jewish....can someone please explain the uproar of Rick Perry Praying?
I have not made up my mind at all about Perry, but having 25,000 people pray for the USA just does not seem either a BAD THING, or worthy of negative comment.
Suppose they had prayed for the Dallas Cowboys?
Would that be bad?
Are people somewhere afraid Perry will take the cross and invade the holy land?
Are they afraid he is liable to force people to convert?
Are they afraid he is going to mention God if elected pres?
I just don't get it. Seriously.
The guy BELIEVES. It makes him FEEL BETTER. It gives him HOPE. It guides his moral being.
IT IS ALSO PERSONAL.
So what's the deal?
No one was scared Lieberman would outlaw pork if elected.
But more importantly, is there anyone who believes the USA does not need people praying for it right now?
Or is praying a bad thing by nature?
