Avigdor Lieberman has written an op-ed where he takes issue with the Israeli prime minister's embarrassing apology to the Turkish premier, and he also says that:
If it is detrimental to the Israeli people’s basic sense of righteousness and morality, such an apology, no matter how much it seems to be in the country’s immediate political interest, inflicts long-term damage outweighing the short-term benefits.The army is surely the one who suffered the biggest insult from Netanyahu's irresponsible apology, which he apparently did without even consulting the IDF before doing it.
The soldiers who risked their lives on behalf of the State of Israel on the Mavi Marmara deserve better.
