The Martyr's Prize: A Tale of American Exceptionalism and Ruthlessness in the Age of Religiously Inspired Terrorism

Short version: I loved this book. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.
I get a lot of books thrown at me, most of which suck. This one didn't.
If you like the Brad Thor/Vince Flynn thriller genre, then you'll like The Martyr's Prize. If you like the genre and on top of that you're a long time Jawa reader, then you'll love it.
Think action hero with the graduate school version of Rusty Shackleford as an unwitting sidekick. I don't want to play spoiler here, but what if all of those prematurely exploding terrorists we hear had been helped along by a couple of bored yet patriotic graduate students who decided to make their own "how to build an IED" video, and then posted it on an extremist website?
Hilarity ensues. Since this part of the plot comes in the first few chapters, I don't think I spoiled anything.
What happens next is the two hook up with a bad ass special forces vet who has just returned from Afghanistan and who one of them knows from a class they are taking together.
And just to let you know the book is actually a page turner, the plot focuses less on the geeks and more on the bad ass vet and his encounters with would-be terrorists and assassins.
So, buy the book already!
