Warning: If you are not a Christian, you may be irritated by this post. However, you might agree wtih me that it would be better for the world if Christianity were ascendant in the Muslim world. That is why I post this here.
The story of a church with a rapidly growing congregation - recently evicted to accomodate the 2012 olympic park.
The very same 18 acre plot in West Ham could easily serve as a location for The Kingsway International Christian Centre, which claims to be the fastest-growing church in western Europe.
Their documented membership warrants building a church capable of holding 8,000 people – or five times that of the size of Westminster Abbey.
Here's the bonus . . .Pastor Christian Matthew Ashimolowo is a Nigerian ex-muslim.
Some of the points Matthew makes actually err on the side of being overly fair to Islam. For instance, he says that Islam eliminated slavery in the Sudan in 1991. While it may be true that a law was enacted against slavery in the Sudan in 1991, the truth is, the Janjaweed, who are sponsored by the Arab Muslim Sudanese government, are still taking blacks and enslaving them to this day.
In fact, that is a very important Jihadic method for the Sudanese Muslims.
That being said, I think the message this guy brings is important, and it is worth a view.

... it just doesn't make sense to me (a Jewess) that a country with a state religion could get away with blocking this established church (with a very large minority congregation) from using the land next to the olympic site - the very site their original church was evicted from?
The very same laws the govt used to evict the church for the olympics could apply to relocate the displaced church on the undeveloped 18 acre parcel next door.
Such a move would finish the debate on the mega mosque (which does not have an established local membership)but it will accomodate the minority community's existing needs.
In my exasperation, I am not finding the proper words to express the maddening irony.
