Islamopandering turns up in Superman

No sooner did I write my earlier post on Marvel's dhimmitude and offense to 9-11 Families and opponents of jihad, now I discover on DC Comics' schedule that they may have one of their own coming soon. In this Comics Alliance post by David Uzumeri, a Canadian contributor to their leftist-slanted site, the following description is presented for Superman #712:
Written by J. MICHAEL STRACZYNSKI and CHRIS ROBERSON
Art by EDDY BARROWS and J.P. MAYER
Cover by JOHN CASSADAY
1:10 Variant cover by GEORGE PÉREZ
Meet Los Angeles's newest super hero in the latest Chapter of "Grounded": Sharif! But Sharif discovers that in today's current cultural climate, some people don't want his help – they just want him gone. Can Superman aid Sharif and quell a prejudiced public, or are there some problems too big even for the Man of Steel to solve?
Though it doesn't actually say that "Sharif", the last name of an Egyptian born actor whose first name was Omar, is a Muslim, the name and description unfortunately serve as an uncomfortable clue to what's ahead.

J. Michael Stracynski, for those not as familiar, is an overrated writer who's dealt in TV, films, and comics too. He may have once been decent enough, but as the 2000s came in, he started on a cascade downhill, and yes, his left-wing political opinions seeped into his work too. This is one of those type of things. That aside, if this is as bad as it sounds, that's one more reason why I'm devastated that Perez, an artist whom I've greatly admired, contributed a cover drawing to this story, which stems from a now forgotten "event".

To make matters worse, the writer of this schedule listing, Uzumeri, jumps the shark:
I completely and fully support DC's ongoing campaign to troll the hell out of anti-Islamic bigots. It is fantastic.
No kidding. I guess it's also fantastic how their sales are going straight down the outhouse toilet. Does this mean he condones trolling the hell out of 9-11 Families and the families of the victims of the Fort Hood bloodbath too? His disgusting crack is shameless, and hardly qualifies as good writing.
While this solicitation would probably make me shudder and crawl into a hole before dying inside if Straczynski had been the only name on the writer credit, after Chris Roberson's Pretty Damn Good last three issues of Superman, I've got faith that he'll handle this as it should be handled: with Superman lecturing a bunch of stupid racists.
Again, we have another moonbat here with no ability to distinguish between race and religion, and who's probably never even heard of phrases like "anti-religious". If he'd used that as his argument, he'd at least be getting somewhere, but no such luck. Nor has he done any in depth studying of the Koran, not even Sura 8:12. Who's the stoop here then?

The real irony is that last year at the AOL-owned site, they actually wrote about Everybody Draw Mohammed Day and Molly Norris vanishing because she was scared of death threats. It would seem as though they tossed out that whole stand. In fact, as a comment I found from, Laura Hudson, one of the head honchos of the site over here says:
It's important to remember that the people threatening violence over this issue are Muslim extremists -- not ordinary Muslims.
If she'd said "moderate" like Dr. Zuhdi Jasser is said to be, she would've at least done better. But "ordinary"? I'm afraid that's awfully naive. There's certainly no such thing as ordinary Islam, and Muhammed's teachings aren't exactly ordinary either.

And you know what? After looking through some more of Comics Alliance, including, but not limited to, posts like the above, I'll be quite honest here, but I don't think they could write their way out of the proverbial wet paper bag. This is one of the most knee-jerk, politically correct websites I've ever seen, and just one sample of how lowbrow AOL really is as a whole. No wonder the art form is being destroyed, because people like these will sugarcoat the industry's steps no matter what. But will they ever suggest a graphic novel be published based on the life of brave people like Debra Burlingame? I doubt they will, and similarly, I doubt they'd even promote a book like that.

- Pakistan Blocked Twitter Access Because Of Everybody Draw Mohammed Day
Did you know that May 20 was Everybody Draw Mohammed Day? Whether or not you do, that was apparently why Pakistan blocked access to Twitter 2 days ago. Leftist Comics Alliance, which spoke about this, didn't help matters by making a grave factual...

- It Wasn't Because Of A Kitten At All. Dc Just Lacks Courage To Be Honest
In this earlier post, I noted the hilarious claim by DC that they nixed the original story in Superman #712 that it was replaced because of a kitten-rescuing scene. But now, in this posting on leftist Comics Alliance, Chris Sims, the man who implied he...

- Putting 2 And 2 Together
In another followup to the post about Superman's renouncing US citizenship and even the now canceled story depicting Americans as hostile to Islam, I just thought of a little something else: as DC's publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee, the former...

- Dc Comics Nixes A Potential Islamopandering Story
In an update to this earlier post, it's reported that DC Comics has replaced that particular story by lefty J. Michael Stracynski with a previously unpublished story by Kurt Busiek. Comics Alliance, one of the most moonbatty sites owned by leftist...
