Men Have Failed, Let’s Give Women a Chance

I found the following at Arab News.
An 8th grade girl in Saudi Arabia who definitely knows what she wants.

You go girl!

Nouf Million, Grade: 8, Hukamma Int’l School, Jeddah

From the early times men have been always holding women back from improving themselves. From the time they were little girls women were deprived from their right of education and they were left behind and could not take their total rights. It was only in Ancient Egypt that three outrageous queens showed the ancient world what girl power was all about. These three queens were Cleopatra, Hatshepsut and Nefertiti.

And then later on in 1900s women finally began to work. And ever since then women started to catch up with the men in certain fields and you could even have seen them working in offices, shops and schools. They even started to specialize more than men. By the 1920s women in many countries had won the right to vote. Could you imagine? They not only deprived women from their right to education and work but also deprived them from their right to vote as members of the country and one of its citizens.

See! Men have always given the right for themselves to hold women back. Why? Huh! All these years men have been dominating the world and ceasing a women’s creative abilities that might have changed the world a 180 degrees to the better.

Even after all those obstacles that faced women in their way to freedom and independence, women are now highly educated and arising in every possible field. Women are now amazingly excelling in a wide range of fields like science, computers, sports, fashion, art and even politics.

Could you imagine that women have been contributing in athletics and sports? For instance Serena Williams, Anna Kournikova, Steffi Graph, P.T. Usha and many others.

Don’t you ever dare to say a woman is weak cause that’s not true and that’s what Margaret Thatcher had proved when she was called “The Iron Woman.” It’s not only she who has proved that, there’s also Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton who are now remarkably starring in the world of politics. Those women give great motivation for other women in all parts of the world. They are influencing women to strive and struggle to reach their goals and achieve their dreams. I’d also like to mention Oprah Winfrey who is the richest woman in Hollywood. Ever since then Oprah has been using her wealth in positive ways to help affected and needy people. Oprah has always been a great icon symbolizing generosity. She’s done what no man has ever done with his wealth.

And like these icons there are some women out there who work hard to earn their living and come back home to cook and clean and that’s not all they take care of they also raise their children in the best possible way. Don’t these women deserve to be called “strong women”? I think we owe these great women and mothers a great deal of appreciation.

I’d also like to add that behind every successful man there is a woman. This tells you that women not only tolerate their work, household chores, and raising children but also support their husbands.

So why not give women a chance to speak out loud for themselves? Why not give them an opportunity to show us who they really are? I guarantee you that women can achieve great success and show remarkable improvement. They will certainly change the world a hundred and eighty degrees to the better.

At the end I would like to conclude and say that I am proud to be a girl and I will always proudly say “Men are not superior to women.”
