I was driving back from Marblehead to Maine with Mrs. Epa. Lehman Bros. had just been allowed to crash out of planet earth. Platitudes about the market by the Bush admin were in the midst of being ignored by the market.
Warnings about ATM’s being empty by the end of the week were starting to be mentioned on cable news.
McCain, who was ahead in every poll, announced he was going to SUSPEND his campaign and return to Washington to try to help solve the bailout issue. Obama said he saw no need to. (Did he even vote on TARP?)
I turned to my wife and said ‘McCain has either just won, or just lost the election’.
Mitt your effective response, attack and ad blitz NOW nationwide will either damn Obama for what he is, an elite, socialist, Chicago goddamned liar of a pol who WILL DO ANYTHING to win or you will be a footnote in his career.
