Continental Flight Diverted To N.C. Due To ThreatGREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Officials say a Continental Airlines flight from Houston to the Washington area has been diverted to North Carolina after a threatening message was written on a bathroom mirror.
The Transportation Security Administration says Continental Flight 3006 was headed for Dulles International Airport in Virginia on Wednesday when it was directed to land at Piedmont Triad International Airport near Greensboro "out of an abundance of caution."
The TSA said the plane was met by law enforcement officers after taxiing to a remote area of the airfield.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Arlene Salac says the commuter jet, which seats 50, was operated by Jet Link.
Spokespeople for Continental and the airport did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
