Pakistani newspaper trashes seminar on terrorism in the US
In the article written by Burhanuddin Hasan and titled none other than "Venomous propaganda", the author trashes the participants of the forum accusing them of lies and attacks on Islam and "hundreds of thousands of peaceful Muslims".
A think-tank in the United States called America's Truth Forum is in fact an "untruth" forum, meant to spread hatred and spit venom against Islam and the Muslims. In a recent seminar in Las Vegas, a group of so-called scholars and journalists were invited to speak on the subject of roots of terrorism and its threat to world peace. But the underlying purpose of the moot was to abuse and malign hundreds of thousands of peaceful Muslims living and serving in the US in various professions as American nationals or as 'Green Card' holders.
The President of the forum Jeff Epstine gave out the information (without proof no doubt) that since 9/11, there have been over 4,000 terrorist attacks around the world by Muslims, who have also been waging economic and political jihad against the "civilised" world under the banner of Islam.
Well, according to the meticulously documented by TROP history of the Islamic terrorist attacks, as of January 3, 2007, there have been at least 7,096 such attacks since September 11, 2001. So, yes, Jeff Epstine's figure of 4,000 was incorrect. Thank you, Burhanuddin Hasan, for pointing that out.
A Lebanese Christian, Brigitte Gabriel, spoke of her childhood, living as a Christian in Lebanon. She said, "We had multiculturalism. We believed in diversity… but the Muslims had different plans. Once they became the majority, they declared jihad on Christians. The Muslims consider us infidels. That's why they want to kill us. Media wrongly reported this conflict as a civil war. Only Israel understood the evil we were fighting."
Absolute trash. It is a historical fact that Muslims and Christians have been living in Lebanon in perfect religious harmony under a constitution which guarantees equal rights of governance to both Muslims and Christians. Israeli attacks on Palestinian refugees living in the camps of Sabra and Chatillah had nothing to do with the Muslim-Christian conflict.
Umm Historical fact supports Brigitte Gabriel's side of the story, not yours, Burhanuddin Hasan.
According to Wikipedia,
"The multi-sided Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990) had its origin in the conflicts and political compromises after the end of Lebanon's administration by the Ottoman Empire and was exacerbated by the nation's changing demographic trends, Christian and Muslim inter-religious strife, and the involvement of Syria, Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). After a short break in the fighting in 1976 due to Arab League mediation and Syrian intervention, civil strife continued, with fighting primarily focused in south Lebanon, controlled first by the PLO, then occupied by Israel."But we can go even further back, to 1958, when
"Lebanese Muslims pushed the government to join the newly created United Arab Republic (Egypt and Syria), while the Christians wanted to keep Lebanon aligned with Western Powers. A Muslim rebellion and the toppling of a pro-Western government in Iraq caused President Chamoun to call for U.S. assistance."So, please, Burhanuddin Hasan, don't give us this crap about "perfect religious harmony" between Lebanese Christians and Muslims and Israeli attacks on peace loving Palestinian refugees.
A Hindu speaker, Babu Suseelan, who provided a Hindu perspective on Islam, said that Islam indoctrinates violence.
And it doesn't? There are 164 violent Jihad verses in the Quran.
One Robert Spencer, who claims to have studied Islam for 20 years and is the author of several books, raised the issue of "moderate Muslims." He talked about what is a moderate Muslim and where do we find one? According to him, "After 9/11, we were told that most Muslims shared our values and deplored the killings. Media hasn't had much success finding examples of that viewpoint to present to the public. The best definition of a moderate Muslim is the one who is not exploding a bomb – at the moment!"
World news reports show Spencer to be correct.
