Pedalin' With A Purpose
You have no doubt heard of the Wounded Warrior Project. Supported by celebrities like Gary Sinise, Glenn Beck, Trace Adkins and these three veterans (Joel, Dan and Pete) bicycling across America to raise money and awareness for the project. his after graduating West Point and hvaing completed a combined 5 tours of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Follow their progress at
pedalin with a purpose. Donate if you can or want. Spread the word. This is for those who have made great sacrifice to protect America and the rights we enjoy here. Like being able to read this blog. And disagree with it if you like.
From
their front page:
In May 2005, Joel, Dan, and Pete graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, leaving New York after four years together to lead and serve our nation’s finest. Since then, they’ve finished a combined five combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Now they get to honor those American soldiers whose courage has inspired them as it did General Douglas MacArthur when he said, “In his youth and his strength, his love and loyalty, he gave all that mortality could give.”
Where will they go? Generally, they’ll face away from the Atlantic and pedal until they hit another ocean, but the following places should get in their way: Portland (Maine), Boston, Hartford, West Point, NYC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, D.C., Cincinnati, Louisville, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City, Boise, every town along the Pacific between San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as many other places across America where they can find spare tires and running water.
How can you support? Donate; tell your friends; stay tuned to the website for events and updates; share your story; ask Pete about his mastery of world languages; send us emails, messages, and encouragement; explain to Dan that uncooked Ramen bricks aren’t the best source of energy; spread the word about the Wounded Warrior Project; convince Joel that 4,000+ miles only sounds like a long way, and you heard that riding through the Rockies isn’t as difficult as it appears.
Have some questions, want to leave a note, looking to add to the site? Email (eric at personalgeeks dot com), he will be able to help while we are riding. Be sure to friend us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and continue to check back here for the latest on our travels.

America Surrenders?
At least, that's what the Iraq Study Group intends. Their great plan is to reduce US combat forces to little more than advisor status and to "engage" with Syria and Iran. Somehow images of Chamberlin holding that piece of paper aloft seem to fill...
