TIMES UK:
This stuff with wind power, solar power, battery cars, bicycles, aromatic candles (whoops carbon emissions), yadda yadda,....it's all around the edges.
We need another real war.
The invention of nuclear weapons has halted all cataclysmic wars because we don't want to see our children living in a radioactive wasteland. Obama is right. We should do away with all nukes, and then the deterrence from this scenario will be gone and we can have a god old fashioned world wide donnybrook probably over oil resources, and kill close to a billion people this time around. Then we should allow the casualties to die, and eliminate all foreign aid to the losers.
After we reduce the population by 20+% or so we'll have another30 years before we have to do it again.
And we can all wait it out at Ruth's Chris, the Old Homestead (NYC), Peter Luger's (NYC), Moishe's (Montreal), Le Severo (Paris), Jess and Jim's (KC), and the world shocking Doe's Eat Place (Greenville, Mississippi)
Or maybe a small to medium size nuclear war will do a good enough job that we can all get back to hunter-gatherer tribes and the calories expended in staying alive by the few people left will make it ok to eat as much meat as we can get.
I am still waiting for the brave gaian to come forward and say what we all really know these people who are certain humans are killing gaia think.People will need to consider turning vegetarian if the world is to conquer climate change, according to a leading authority on global warming.
In an interview with The Times, Lord Stern of Brentford said: "Meat is a wasteful use of water and creates a lot of greenhouse gases. It puts enormous pressure on the world's resources. A vegetarian diet is better."
Direct emissions of methane from cows and pigs is a significant source of greenhouse gases. Methane is 23 times more powerful than carbon dioxide as a global warming gas.
Lord Stern, the author of the influential 2006 Stern Review on the cost of tackling global warming, said that a successful deal at the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December would lead to soaring costs for meat and other foods that generate large quantities of greenhouse gases.
There are too many people.
