So how are things going in France? How about the Intifada? That’s right. An Intifada is one its way in France.
"Michel Thoomis, the secretary general of the hardline Action Police trade union, demands that officers be given armored cars in the most dangerous areas. “He said yesterday: ‘We are in a state of war, orchestrated by radical Islamists. This is not a question of urban violence any more, it is an intifada, with stones and Molotov cocktails. You no longer see two or three youths confronting police, you see whole tower blocks emptying into the streets to set their “comrades” free when they are arrested.’”
In other words, a civil war!
The French police union declared to media that its members are now “in a state of civil war” with Muslims. This attack is particularly in the intensely populated areas referred to as “banlieu estates.” Much unemployment is reported there. Police officers are being injured daily. Officials are confused as to what to do. Muslims are intent on creating havoc, no matter what the governmental warnings. It is becoming so out of control that police are debating what to enact more severely in the “no-go zones,” that is, the areas where Muslims have such an upper hand that there is no civil way by which to corral their violence.
And the problem is growing.
“The number of attacks has risen by a third in two years. Police representatives told the newspaper Le Figaro that the ‘taboo’ of attacking officers on patrol has been broken.” “Michel Thoomis, the secretary general of the hardline Action Police trade union, has written to Mr. Sarkozy warning of an ‘intifada’ on the estates and demanding that officers be given armored cars in the most dangerous areas. You no longer see two or three youths confronting police, you see whole tower blocks emptying into the streets to set their “comrades” free when they are arrested.’ “He added: ‘We need armored vehicles and water cannon. They are the only things that can disperse crowds of hundreds of people who are trying to kill police and burn their vehicles.’
Meanwhile, the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing in France according to this report: Islam Grows in France with State-Sponsored Mosques.
Another state-sponsored mosque is being constructed in France, where Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy took action for the reinterpretation of secularism. With the support of the French state, Muslims, who previously congregated in various buildings for prayer, will now have mosques in downtown locales. The construction of one mosque, Creteil Mosque, was commenced on Thursday night. The mosque project proposed by Muslims living in Val-de-Marne of Paris three years ago was finally implemented with the support of the municipality. When completed by 2008, it will be the first mosque with two domes and a minaret in the region. The mosque will have a 2,000 person capacity. Land for the mosque worth 4,000,000 euros was granted by the Creteil Municipality. The municipality will also donate 1,000,000 euros during the construction process. The number of mosques is too few for the huge Muslim population in France, Cathala said recalling that immigrant Muslims, who have been sidelined by the dominant culture, could perceive the lack of mosques as another sign of exclusion.
And why is it the responsibility of the French government to pay for the mosques? Why don’t the Muslims pay for it themselves? I wonder how many new Cathedrals have been built in France with government money. Or perhaps, it’s a payoff to keep the ‘excluded’ Muslims from being offended and having an excuse to riot again?
Cathala expressed strong reaction to criticisms claiming he had violated the principle of secularism by allocating financial resources to the construction of the mosque. Cathala noted that using secularism to disguise fear and the denial of diversity distorts the basic principle of the republic. The law on secularism adopted in 1905 bans government funding for religious institutions. However, Cathala reminded that under the same law, the state must ensure equal opportunities to perform religious obligation to all citizens.
France needs to get its priorities straight. Are they a dhimmi nation or not?
