The difference between Europe and Israel in dealing with terrorists

Liberal Sanjuanista, a Mexican blogger, correctly points out the difference between how Israel deals with a situation like that of the kidnapped soldier, and how would Europeans deal with it if the soldier were one of their own. For those of you who do not read Spanish, I translate:

"When an islamist 'rebel' group kidnaps an European soldier or citizen, the usual thing is for the government of his country to bet on 'dialogue' until they end up transferring thousands of Euros into the terrorists' bank accounts in exchange for the liberation of the hostage. And all the well-meaning are happy, because 'no more human lives were exposed and no further injustices were committed.

But a serious country like Israel, that has to live with islamic terrorists up its nose all the time, knows only too well how important is any one soldier's life, one of their own. They know too well that to sit and negotiate is a waste of time."

Crystal clear, Sanjuanista. While in Spain they run and elect the pacifist candidate after a terrorist bombing, the israelis do still have "cojones."
