Last night, I looked into getting absentee ballots for Mr. AOW and me so that we can vote in the Virginia Primary on March 1, 2016. We were planning to vote for any GOP candidate not approved by the GOP establishment.
For as long as I can remember, here in Virginia we have had open primaries. That is, voters did not have to affirm Party affiliation to vote in primaries.

BTW, no such certification is required for the 2016 Democratic Primary here in Virginia.

The Republican Party of Virginia has determined that theBoth Mr. AOW and I are registered as Independents, so we won't be voting in the 2016 Virginia Republican Primary. We've been shut out.
