Obama adviser presents upbeat assessment on Hizbullah's evolution

WASHINGTON -- John Brennan, assistant to the president for homeland and counter-terrorism, said the United States should be prepared to engage with Hizbullah.

Brennan said Hizbullah has developed from what he termed a "terrorist organization" to a group that contains parliamentarians, Cabinet ministers, attorneys and physicians.

Well I'm just pleased to know that now that we have lawyers and parlimentarians among these people we can look forward to THESE KINDS OF THINGS legally.I mean as long as racists do things legally, all is well.

"I'm pleased to see that a lot of Hizbullah individuals are in fact renouncing that type of terrorism and violence and are trying to participate in the political process in a very legitimate fashion," Brennan said.

In an address to the Center for Strategic and International Studies on Aug. 6, Brennan, who said he was Obama's principal adviser on counterterrorism," did not identify Hizbullah members who renounced violence. Hizbullah has long been on the State Department's list of organizations deemed terrorist.

Iran jet that crashed in July carried advanced fuses for Hizbullah

LONDON -- Western intelligence sources said Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps has been supplying advanced fuses for the assembly of bombs and rocketsto Hizbullah forces in Lebanon.

The sources said the fuses, along with other military components, were being transported on civilian flights to Syria.

"This is part of the Iranian buildup of Hizbullah in preparation of a war with Israel," a Western intelligence source said.

On Aug. 1, the Italian daily Corriere della Sera said an Iranian passenger jet that crashed in mid-July was carrying advanced fuses for Hizbullah. Corriere della Sera reported that the explosion on the Russian-origin Tupelov was triggered by the fuses. In the end, the plane crashed and 168 people were killed.

The newspaper said the Tupelov was carrying a large number of fuses for weapons. The fuses, supplied by IRGC, were said to weigh two kilograms each and contained both explosives and electronic triggers.

The Western sources said Iran has accelerated weapons and missile deliveries to Hizbullah over the last month. They said most of the weapons deliveries arrived in Syria, where the cargo was transferred to trucks for the 45-minute drive to Lebanon.

Corriere della Sera reported that Hizbullah was storing the Iranian fuses and other weapons in warehouses south of Lebanon's Litani River. But Hizbullah relocated some of the weapons in wake of an explosion that destroyed a militia warehouse in Khibat Silm on July 14.

These delusional fantasy lovers are running the show, while in the IRGC, in Teheran, in caves near Quetta and Qandahar, in Waziristan, in meetings in Moscow, the laughter and hard headed cynical plans proceed.
