The Morality or lack of, around nuking Iran pre-emptively


Seymour Hersch's article is important not because it claims we are discussing plans to nuke Iran, we had better be discussing such ideas, but because it should spur among us all a discussion of the morality surrounding such a decision.

What have they done to us?
Well we know that until 9/11 the Iranians and their cat's paw of Hizballah killed more americans than anyone else. They have demonstrated their resolve and desire, just not hereint he USA - yet. In 1979 they committed an act of war in invading the american embassy. Abstractly that doesn't sound like much, except to those ruthlessly kidnapped, but legally, it was war.

Are they so awful and threatening?
Well some say that Adhmadinejad, the new president of Iran is in fact a loon and really doesn't represent the pragmastists, that Iran is a 'normal country'
