Under Obama, U.S. named 'chief facilitator of Christian persecution'

From the Examiner:

A recently released report titled, "2014 World Watch List," ranks the 50 worst offenders of Christian persecution around the world.Syria is listed as third, Iraq-fourth, Afghanistan is fifth and Libya ranks 13 among the nations that persecute Christians.
All four of those nations received the designation of "extreme persecution." The watch lists other designations such as “severe,” “moderate,” and “sparse” persecution. There is one thing all these countries have in common besides the "extreme" designation the, U.S. is heavily involved in those countries.
Three of the nations listed have been "liberated" by the U.S. In Syria the U.S. is actively sponsoring “freedom fighters” against the regime. However, many of them are called terrorists in the other three nations we helped obtain "freedom."
The situation in Syria is said to be an indictment of the U.S. Areport from Reuters says:
Open Doors, a non-denominational group supporting persecuted Christians worldwide, said on Wednesday it had documented 2,123 “martyr” killings, compared with 1,201 in 2012. There were 1,213 such deaths in Syria alone last year, it said.
“This is a very minimal count based on what has been reported in the media and we can confirm,” said Frans Veerman, head of research for Open Doors. Estimates by other Christian groups put the annual figure as high as 8,000.
In 2013, the number of Christian martyrs doubled from the previous year. In 2012, Syria accounted for more than the whole global total, according to the annual report. Most of us in America are shielded from what's actually going on in Syria. This is because the MSM is reluctant to report the atrocities committed by the rebels we provide aid to.
However, other media outlets outside of our nation like Arabic media, websites, and activists report daily the atrocities committed against Christians, like beheadings and bombings of their churches. Christians are brutally slaughtered without nary a peep from the MSM here in America.
The Christians are murdered for refusing to convert to Islam. Countless more are abducted for possible ransom and some are even raped by Islamic militants. These atrocities are usually committed at the hands of those the U.S. supports.
The largest massacre of Christians in Syria happened in Nov. 2013 and was essentially unreported by the MSM here in America. A top religious leader in Syria had this to say about the massacre:
What happened in Sadad is the most serious and biggest massacre of Christians in Syria in the past two years and a half… 45 innocent civilians were martyred for no reason, and among them several women and children, many thrown into mass graves. Other civilians were threatened and terrorized. 30 were wounded and 10 are still missing.
For one week, 1,500 families were held as hostages and human shields. Among them children, the elderly, the young, men and women….All the houses of Sadad were robbed and property looted.
The churches are damaged and desecrated, deprived of old books and precious furniture. What happened in Sadad is the largest massacre of Christians in Syria and the second in the Middle East, after the one in the Church of Our Lady of Salvation in Iraq, in 2010.
The words above came from Archbishop Selwanos Boutros Alnemeh, Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of Homs and Hama.
The statistics in the Open Doors report speak for themselves. Syria used to be tolerant of other religions in their nation until the U.S. began "trying to bring democracy" to them. Now Syria is listed as the third worst country for their "extreme persecution" of Christians.
According to The Blaze Dr. David Curry, president of Open Doors, charged that the Obama administration has essentially declined to make the protection of religious minorities a priority. He said:
There are many instances where the vacuum of leadership and spokesmanship has created a real problem. I would say that every significant data point on this year’s ‘2014 Watch List’ is worse—and I think a factor in it is a lack of leadership from Western governments including the U.S. in terms of religious freedom.
What's worse is the U.S. isn't taking action to cease from funding the terrorists in Syria. All of us remember how the Obama administration tried to go to war on behalf of the "freedom fighters" and in the name of human rights. Those who U.S. supports are committing atrocity after atrocity against Christians, Alawites and Catholics in Syria.
Apparently the Obama administration was willing to take our nation into another war based upon the unsubstantiated rumor that Assad massacred people.
However, on the other hand there are numerous and well-documented reports of massacres at the hands of the rebels but Obama is silent, and isn’t calling for the U.S. to go to war with them. He isn’t stopping from sending them support either.
Is this the kind of legacy the U.S. wants to leave for future generations? Under the Obama administration our nation is being called the "chief facilitator of Christian persecution around the world," according to Voice of the Persecuted.
