Ukraine sells Iran strategic radar systems designed to detect U.S. stealth aircraft
MOSCOW — Iran has ordered and acquired several advanced anti-aircraft systems from the Ukraine.Russian industry sources said the Ukraine has sold an undetermined number of Kolchuga anti-aircraft radar systems to Iran. The Kolchuga passive-detection systems are capable of spotting enemy aircraft up to 800 kilometers away.
The sources said Kolchuga would enhance Iran's air defense umbrella. At least 10 such systems were sold at $25 million each, they said.
