So what gives, here? Barry and Nappy going to get tough? Or hand some land back to Mexico? Is this related to the AZ no go for U.S. citizens land or to the recent skirmishes and cross border incursions by Cartel backed Federales? Or might it have to do with this?

Hello Michelle-
I am a federal employee with the US Geological Survey who often does field work near the border.
Last week we were told to not travel to field sites within 5 mi of the border between Buenos Aires Nat Wildlife Refuge and Douglas, i.e basically all of the SE Arizona border. This decision was apparently based on communications with the Border Patrol and is supposed to be a temporary situation.
I have no other information and don’t know if any other agencies are issuing similar warnings. But, this leads me to believe that some US operation is planned or the Border Patrol is anticipating something from across the border.
I thought this odd enough to forward it because you may receive related info and so that you be tuned into news from the area.
And from an AZ insider…
There is a huge gearing-up of ICE/BP regarding what may be a major drug enforcement Ops in southern AZ. Agents brought in from all over the US for a 2-3 month TDY. Unusual that all directives are coming from Napolitano’s D.C. henchmen. With Napolitano’s long history of adoration towards Mexican government officials, there is concern that this could lead to some type of giant ambush caused by our very own double agent (the Director of Homeland Insecurity). Something very peculiar is happening and I am concerned that AZ is going to be punished in a big way…
…some of the more seasoned agents are concerned about this Washington-driven investigation…Some think that this is going to be for show. Others are really concerned for their own health and safety.

Last night, an Anonymous commenter left this link to a website called Patriot Science. I know nothing of the website. It appears to be a discussion board, trafficing information about border issues. The reports that come in SEEM to be from first, or second, hand experience.
But, who knows.

Texasmobfather: I just got off the phone with Hummer, our Pima County Commander, at
13:15 hours, 13 Jul 2010, here is his SITREP:
0545 hours MST - 13 Jul 2010 - approx. 7 miles west of Ruby, AZ -
six enemy, in uniform, carrying AK and SKS rifles - enemy were
engaged by ACM forces as they tried to cross the international
fence - two enemy KIA confirmed, unknown number of enemy WIA, no
friendly casualties
Hummer now has his guys "hunkered down" until after dark, when they
will exfil the area. He has not requested additional troops at
this time.
Tell everyone to sharpen their knives, but don't start heading to
Pima County just yet. This was a small unit action, nothing more.
The ACM remains at "RIBBON" status, our second highest level of
alert. Since we only have three levels, and we have been on that
level since 22 June 2010, there is reason to be alert, but not to
be alarmed.
Mobilization for our Fall mission continues, but anyone who wants
to "mount up and head to the sound of the gunfire" ahead of that
may contact me directly and we will see what we can arrange. We
cannot offer them a place to stay other than out in the desert, and
that has its own spectacular charm right about now. ••
