Why Mr. Obama should have JUMPED at the chance to delay the Obamacare mandate for 60-180 days
The IT side is simply UNPREPARED for on line action.
I tried to go at this several ways today.
After nearly three hours I got into the system.
It reported that there was a message regarding my identity, but provides no context or means to find out what that message is.
If you click the link which takes you to a view of your application here is what I was presented with.
So I followed the application process (the 5th time, the first 4 times I was presented with ‘we are down’ errors of one sort or another at one of the MANY ‘save and continue’ buttons).
I got all the way through for the first time, an error ‘ID’ red notice flashed and then I was sent back to the first screen in which you can edit your profile or view your application.
If I chose ‘view application’ I started the entire process over again as if I had done NOTHING. In fact, my SSN was missing, and my wife’s was now WRONG, and my phone number had transpositions.
I repeated this process 3 times, ended up with the same result and quit.
My application is incomplete, and I don’t have any idea why. My identity has some message attached to it, but I am not directed any place to read it or deal with it.
The CENTERPIECE of Obamacare,
the ‘Marketplace’
is SIMPLY UNREADY.
It appears more and more likely that given the published rates for men my age in Maine, I will simply have to find the paperwork to OPT OUT, since the premiums indicate I would have to be making if I choose a silver plan …>$150k per year and if I choose a gold plan >$540k/year.
Or pay the $95 fine either way and just cross my fingers until Medicare.
Thus this signal achievement of this administration has at best, like the 2nd law of thermodynamics, governing the laws of increasing chaos in the universe, done NOTHING in my favor, but more likely made it worse in already documented ways.
These are facts.
These are apolitical realities.
As a senior project manager who governed PREFCISELY this kind of application rollout in 2002-2003 with a private insurance company I would have been FIRED by the end of day 2.
