It is done 58 to 42. Judge Alito, who has aspired to serve on the Supreme Court since a teenager, has gotten his wish. It has been a hard tough battle but the fruits of victory are his and ours. May he serve for many, many years and protect us from the Leftists who wish to destroy our country.

The former U.S. appeals court judge will quickly be sworn in at the Supreme Court before his expected appearance at Bush's annual State of the Union speech Tuesday evening with the White House's other new Supreme Court judge, Chief Justice John Roberts.
