We've been discussing in the comments section here a bit about horses and Modernity, and it leads me to recall a time recently after Olympic celebration here in Vancouver, Canada, a scene that remains with me, troubling and unhappy. I see it again in the video of Lars Vilks attacked by Muslims at Uppsala, Sweden, Swedes sitting in a stupor doing nothing, not for or against. They too have shot their horses. Where have all the cowboys gone?
