Infidel Mojo Weighs in on Political Fracturing

Our resident Anthropologist at What Would Charles Martel Do? (yes, we do have an Anthropologist on staff, and one furthermore who loves to rant in a sarcastic and venomous fashion) has decided to weigh in on the political fracturing that has been occuring throughout the West of late. And that fracturing is something that I believe we are all a part of, people who want something more out of our leaders and when not given decent options will follow the political Wild Cards out there. But enough about my thoughts, here are some from Mr. Infidel Mojo:

Do not get me wrong. I am no fan of Mr. LePen, the National Front, or other political movements disguising Fascism as something more palatable, but I certainly understand how they come to exist and develop a following.

In the US and throughout Europe people are essentially standing up to the condescension and paternalism exhibited by Liberals everywhere. After years of being ridiculed as rubes and bumpkins, they are learning to draw on the arguments liberals have championed, namely the right of “traditional” societies to exist and self-determination. And this includes taking back political power.

The first component, the rights of traditional societies to express themselves, has until recently been extended only to those populations that could be defined as exotic, downtrodden, or otherwise not part of the Western tradition. If they looked good on a postcard from your most recent eco-tourism vacation to the Amazon then they should be uplifted and praised. If they lived in your own back yard, such as rural populations in the Loire Valley or Montana, then this veneration could be rescinded. Indeed, these people could be portrayed and treated as savages. Ignored at best, ridiculed and attacked at worst. However, being human, and therefore a relatively intelligent species, these people grew wise to the double standards and poor logic of the Left.

In response, the Left has begun to develop new ways of dealing with their bumpkin brothers. They either run away and bury their heads in the sand (exemplified in the act of rich Californians buying houses out from under the noses of Oregonians), or resort to name calling. No sound arguments or reasoning, just childishness name calling when they don’t get their way. And the more traditional, “conservative” people have grown wise to this, hence further polarization.
