WBZ-TV News in Boston is reporting that the tapes of the 911 call and radio dispatches made during the arrest of Harvard Professor Henry "Skip" FOB (Friend of Barack) Gates have been released, and that the 911 call includes no indication of "racial profiling" by the caller.
The contents of the radio dispatches have not yet been discussed. But at least Sgt. James Crowley will not have to go into that "beer summit" with Obama and Gates without it being crystal clear exactly who dragged "racism" into this incident.
Police Commissioner Haas and City Manager Healy have shown commendable dedication to justice in their handling of this situation. Would that could be said of the POTUS, governor of Massachusetts, and mayor of Cambridge.

Gates Arrest 911 Call Released, No
Mention Of Race
Cambridge police released a copy Monday of the 911 call and radio dispatches made during the controversial arrest of black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.
On the tape, a woman tells the police dispatcher that she saw "two gentlemen trying to get into a house" and that they were "pushing the door in" with their shoulders.
When the dispatcher asks the woman are they "white, black or Hispanic" the woman, Lucia Whalen, says, "One looked kinda Hispanic, but I'm not really sure. The other one entered, but I didn't see what he looked like at all."
Police Commissioner Robert Haas said at a news conference Monday that the "tapes will speak for themselves," when asked if police should have done anything differently.
"I am committed to making sure our city is not defined by that day. Today is the day to move forward," said city manager Robert Healy.
