Storm Track Appeasement & Apologists

From A Piece Written a Few Months Ago at The Gathering Storm.

"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last."

The World Wars of the 20th century had physically and emotionally exhausted the European nations. After tens of millions have died and billions of dollars in property destroyed, 21st century Europe has done everything it could to avoid future conflicts that brought the continent to its knees. The Europeans, in the rush to avoid war in the future, no longer sees that wars are fought to defeat evil, but sees war as evil. This had led to the reluctance to confront the growing evil of the 21st century. The response today is to appease at any price to avoid war, as was the response to the fascists of Germany and Japan in the 1930s.

Like in the 1930s, the disease of appeasement has infected all of the free world today - its political leadership, main stream media, educational and cultural institutions, and even its entertainment industry. This reluctance to confront the common enemy of the Islamists who seek to dominate the world through their religion, stems from a real fear of a destructive clash between civilizations – between a 21st century civilization and a 13th century one.

Appeasement is not a softening up tactic itself. It is the end result of disinformation and intimidation tactics used by the Islamists and leads the free world into doubt and inaction in the face of the threat.

Circa: 1930s

Hitler rose to power on disinformation campaign of victimhood. Hitler partially blamed the distressed of affairs of Germany in the 1920s and early 1930, on the Versailles Treaty that ended World War I, and the rest on the Jews. Hitler screamed about the injustices perpetrated on Germany by the peace treaty and the behind the scene manipulations of the Jews and the free nations of Europe cowered under his disinformation assault. Yes, it was true that Germany suffered economically and psychologically from the Versailles Treaty and drove the democratic German into high inflation and bankruptcy.

The European response to his Hitler’s ranting was an ‘understanding’ and the ‘moral’ justification for the West's appeasement attitude that followed. - mainly in the belief that the time had come for the revision of the unjust peace treaty. This ‘understanding’ and the desperate need to avoid another war, forced the democratic European nations into inaction without the moral strength to band together for the common good to defeat what only a few had seen as a growing threat to peace and justice.

Unfortunately, it’s the same today. Europe is in an appeasement mode and the American Left is following close behind the Europeans hell bent on repeating the same mistakes.

Circa: Today

Over the last few years, the pace of appeasing the Islamists and Muslims in general has increased dramatically. Believing the victim claims of the Muslims from their press and pulpits, the free world under the banner of multiculturalism, has bent over backwards to please their Muslim populations who claim that the behavior of democratic institutions and the values they hold have made them ‘uncomfortable’ in some cases, and incensed in others.

Instead of Muslims assimilating into the democratic cultures that they emigrate to, the reverse is happing in many free world nations, especially in Europe – the Islamists are forcing us to assimilate to their culture, changing the very tone and semantics of the rights of the democratic nations in the process (see examples below). Under multiculturalism, everyone is the same and all cultures are separate but equal. But the end result of multiculturalism was to reduce in importance western civilization and its religions in order to bring other cultures up. But the majority of Muslim immigrants to the free world Islam show little sign of wanting to participate in this Utopian world of multiculturalism. They, instead, want to have their culture be the dominate one and refuse to co-exist. The democratic world is in danger of losing its identity for the sake of perfect multicultural ideal that Islam does not buy into.

When the Islamists are made to feel uncomfortable in the modern world, the apologists (read appeasers) in the free world make up all kinds of excuses for Muslim behavior. "We must have done something to offend them", or "Islam is a religion of peace", or "Islam is no different from any other religion" or "We must find out what they want".

As one anonymous blogger has said, “We know what they want - the destruction of our civilization and culture and a descent to the Dark Ages of Sharia worldwide and all the evil it would bring. We are heading towards being the first civilization in human history to be complicit in our own destruction. We're too soft and namby-pamby here in the West, and the likes of Churchill would be appalled if he could come back to life and spend a week in 2006.

Here are some recent attempts as appeasement ending with a democratic nation corroding its national values In the name of multiculturalism.

British theater censors Christopher Marlowe’s 1580s masterpiece to avoid upsetting Muslims.
Tate museum censors John Latham's piece “God Is Great”, a work made up of sacred texts from Christianity, Judaism and Islam torn and mounted on glass, so as not to upset Muslims.
Advisors appointed by Tony Blair after the London bombings are proposing to scrap the Jewish Holocaust Memorial Day because it is regarded as offensive to Muslims.
Rangers Football Club decides to produce strips without the Carling Beer logo after complaints from Muslim fans.
Britain adopts Islamic laws. The Inland Revenue is considering recognizing polygamy for some religious groups for tax purposes. Officials have agreed to examine “family friendly” representations from Muslims who take up to four wives under Sharia, the laws derived from the Koran.
Muslims Against Ads (MAD) censor billboards deemed un-Islamic. Ads for perfume, hair dye, bras and television programs are among those that have been attacked, it said. Photographs of semi-dressed women are the most frequently targeted with the offending body parts painted over or ripped off.
Some British schools have also removed or restricted the following "anti-Muslim" children's books – including Winnie the Pooh and Piglet.
Previous U.K. successes include banning a 100 year old statue of a wild boar, police seizure of porcelain pigs displayed in the window of a private home, and the removal of a sign referring to "pork" at a British pub frequented by butchers.
Even the English flag is offensive to Muslims.
Police told to raid suspected Muslim terror house in socks and not use dogs.
London's mayor supports Muslim terrorists.
Here is why it's called "Londonistan".
"Allah" Ice creams banned.
Piggy banks 'offend UK Muslims'. So, the banks banned them.
Borders and Waldenbooks refuse to carry magazine containing Mohammed cartoons

Europe's effort at cultural tolerance since World War II slowly morphed into a surprisingly deep self-loathing of Western culture that denied the instinct for cultural and national self-defense. If Europe doesn't rise to the challenge, Eurabia will come to pass. Then Europe will cease to be an American ally and instead become a base of operations (as she already is to a small degree) against us.

In short, European countries are losing their national unity – a multicultural rot from within. Blankly writes further that those who've given their blood, sweat and tears to build up the great country of America, will be shunted aside, trampled upon, in the name of "diversity" and "tolerance", for the most intolerant culture on the planet, bar none.

When you preach diversity you get a balkanized country. The damage to the mores and morals of Western Civilization by multiculturalism is a natural outcome of a policy that puts political correctness before common sense. By substituting Judeo-Christian values with PC and multiculturalism a secular society that believes in nothing is easy prey and can be overrun by fanatic society that believes strongly in their cause.

Finally, here’s what happens when unrestrained appeasement turns into delusion. The European Union in its attempt to placate the Islamists has removed ‘Islamic Terrorism’ from its Dictionary.

In a strange way, the appeasers and apologists for Islam have introduced Orwell’s concept of Newspeak. Orwell writes in his book 1984, “The purpose of Newspeak was not only to provide a medium of expression for the world-view and mental habits proper to the devotees of IngSoc, but to make all other modes of thought impossible. This was done partly by the invention of new words, but chiefly by eliminating undesirable words and stripping such words as remained of unorthodox meanings, and so far as possible of all secondary meaning whatever.”

To give a single example - The word free still existed in Newspeak, but could only be used in such statements as "The dog is free from lice" or "This field is free from weeds." It could not be used in its old sense of "politically free" or "intellectually free," since political and intellectual freedom no longer existed even as concepts, and were therefore of necessity nameless. Newspeak was founded on the English language as we now know it, though many Newspeak sentences, even when not containing newly created words, would be barely intelligible to an English-speaker of our own day.”
