Oslo’s only synagogue was vandalized last week. According to newspaper reports, a twenty year old male defecated on the staircase leading up to the front entrance door of the synagogue, and threw rocks at the windows, smashing several of them.
Minister of the Mosaic religious community, Anne Stender, believes the incident is a response to the current war in the middle east.
“What is happening in the region seems to have hit a nerve in the population, and sadly some people react this way, which of course is totally unacceptable.”
The Mosaic religious community have reported the incident to the police. They have also been in contact with the Norwegian Justice department, who have assured the Mosaic community that they take this incident very seriously.
It’s less than ten days ago, since the Mosaic religious community warned its members not to wear the kippah, and not to speak hebrew in public, to avoid confrontations with opponents of the Lebanon-Israeli war.
The middle eastern conflict affects a lot of Norwegians, both mentally and politically, says Stender. People are getting agitated and can’t separate one thing from the other.
It’s weird isn’t it? The lefties are the ones who advocate peaceful coexistence between the different races in this country, but they don’t hesitate for one single second, to physically assault people with differing political views.
