The Next Egypt … who is it? And what happens when it arrives?

In other places I have posited that a sizable plurality to majority of people in every muslim majority nation would look favorably upon Islamist -Shariah government in their own lands.

I believe Pew backs that up.

If we believe that representative government has to reflect that, then that direction is certainly where the Egyptian nation’s people are headed. It is simply an unknown how far down that path they will go, but their own extremist history since the ascent of Nasser is not thrilling. Balanced against that we hear of how tightly the Egyptian armed forces are wound with the the USA (but they did a pretty good pivot dropping the USSR under Sadat, didn’t they?).

It is NOT meaningless that Egypt is the birthplace of the Muslim Brotherhood, HAMAS, and fathered Al Qaeda and every single nihilistic variation in the Sunni world today, from the jahilia ideas of Sayd Qutb.

It is not meaningless for the world that as objectionable as Mubarak may have been, the peace signed by Sadat (who turned out to be as disliked as Mubarak is), perhaps, irritates too many Egyptians as part of being held down against their REAL WANTS, whose leanings follow what the Pew Org has detailed.

It is NOT meaningless that Al Azhar Univ’s. (an ancient institution WELL to the ‘left’ of the MB) head, Tantawi wrote a Treatise called “Jews in the Quran” which concludes:

The Qur’an describes the Jews with their own particular degenerate characteristics, i.e., killing the prophets of Allah, corrupting His words by putting them in the wrong places, consuming the people’s wealth frivolously, refusing to distance themselves from the evil they do, and other ugly characteristics caused by their deep-rooted lasciviousness … only a minority of the Jews keep their word … [But] not all Jews are the same. The good ones become Muslims, the bad ones do not.”

Too many of these people believe this in their souls, and this is among the mildest of the Muslim Brotherhood’s beliefs (holocaust denial, Protocols of Zion - ad nauseum)

By what process, and by whose definitions will there be a ‘orderly’ turnover of sovereignty in Egypt?

With each step of conciliation the govt has taken in Egypt their opposition has been emboldened, until now an announcement that the govt will be gone in 7 months is regarded as a totally unacceptable outcome.

That’s up to them. I don’t believe there is anything the USA can or should do to interfere.

But let’s be sanguine.

The mullahs of the 12th Imam control Iran.

Hizballah, their cat’s paw, controls Lebanon.

Assad, a murderer and the child of a mass murderer without conscience (Hama) controls a Syria which has heretofore been the bloodthirstiest of Israel’s neighbors.

Egypt of the peace treaty is disappearing.

Given the positions of the Muslim Brotherhood in Gaza and the West Bank, there will be a regional nuclear war in the Middle East at some point after the Brotherhood DOES assume executive power in Egypt because the only other outcome is Israel’s population EMIGRATES over time, over a SHORT TIME because the USA under it’s present govt is going to do NOTHING to stop the international processes now underway.

Not the removal of the hideous and corrupt tyrants of the middle east who were formerly ‘frenemies’, not that process. The process of the retreat of the ideas of the west beneath the camouflage of these removals. We talk a good game in being dangerous to our allies, about freedoms, but we enable with each step those whose cynical ambitions well understand the risk averse mindset in DC.

Barack Obama may be fit to manage a decline with minimal casualties, but that is his high point.

And Decline is his CHOICE. Decline is ALWAYS a choice. Like the final relaxing and acceptance of prey in the coils of a snake.

Jimmy Carter on Crack, Mr. Obama will be recorded among the worst 4 or 5 presidents in American History.

What are your plans Mr. Obama when the Bolsheviks of the Muslim Brotherhood assume power, by election or not, and the peace between Israel and the Arabs, such as it was, is regarded as a relic of a dictatorship? What will YOU do to ensure the survival of Israel without the death of tens-hundreds of millions of Arabs in a regional war of unimaginable outcome?

Or do you care?

You WANTED the job. This is it.

1948 all over again. And that's just a side effect
