Hizbullah Shi'ites buy land near Israel, establishing

GERTZ - NICOSIA — Lebanese sources said Hizbullah has bought a large amount of land in southern Lebanon to prepare for another war with Israel.The sources said Hizbullah has obtained property from fleeing Christians and Druze about 12 kilometers from the Israeli border for weapons storage and rocket launchers.
Most of the land has been acquired north of the Litani River and off-limits to the expanded United Nations peace-keeping force. The Lebanese Army, about 50 percent Shi'ite, has ignored Hizbullah activities, meant to link southern Lebanon with the Bekaa Valley.
"Christians and Druze are selling land and moving out, while the Shia are moving in," former Lebanese parliamentarian Edmond Rizik said. "There is an extraordinary demographic shift taking place."
